Breathe in the dew-thick air upon the morning,
But fear not the exhalation of the afternoon,
Though the humming sun meets zenith too soon,
The heart still palpitates after the clock strikes noon.
Because what is time but the force between celestial bodies?
And the brighter body slings us ‘round in its pull
Heating and slowing and melting to null,
And void until it consumes its full.
Miniscule upon this rock we weep that a day dies young,
But do not stalk the dark in fear,
And the dark side of the moon is clear,
So take in the sweet heat of your atmosphere,
And sigh, sigh, sigh, for the night creeps near…
